This year we hosted our first ever Eco Conference, an event developed from a conversation between Co-op Academy Manchester and the Co-op to explore options about the Co-op Ten-Point Climate Plan.

This year we hosted our first ever Eco Conference, an event developed from a conversation between Co-op Academy Manchester and the Co-op to explore options about the Co-op Ten-Point Climate Plan.

Hosted at 1 Angel Square, the great environmental minds from across the Trust, both students and teachers, met to solve the greatest challenges we are facing right now when it comes to climate change.

Co-op Academy Manchester, a Green Flag holder, shared some excellent guidance and tips on how other academies could make their working practices more environmentally friendly, and explained how they achieved their Green Flag status.

Students also heard from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), a key voice in this space, as well as other academies making a difference in their local area. 

Academies will have the opportunity to apply for up to £500 to support their ideas in school, and there will be a follow up conference in March to allow academies to share how they have developed their plans and ideas.
