Co-op Funeralcare supports Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams’ school library
Co-op Funeralcare in Meir, Stoke-on-Trent, has donated £300 to the development of Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams’ library.
The funds have been used to purchase new books to enhance the academy's growing library, providing pupils with a more diverse and engaging range of books.
Elizabeth Garrity, Head of Community for Co-op Academies Trust, praised the collaboration, saying: “Lee Cotton, Funeral Service Manager, and his Co-op Funeralcare team in Meir have been amazing and have truly shown what being part of a community team means.
“The support for Florence MacWilliams was immediate - they completed a Community Donation Fund to secure £300 for much-needed books for the children and that has made a huge difference."
In addition to the donation, the Co-op Funeralcare team also contributed two hampers to be used for attendance support initiatives and prizes at the academy. Liz continued: “This fantastic collaboration has brought countless benefits and we look forward to seeing this relationship grow as the new school site is completed."
Lee Cotton, Funeral Service Manager at Co-op Funeralcare in Meir, said: “It was our pleasure to support Co-op Academy Florence MacWilliams with a donation. We're proud to have such an ambitious high school in the local area - it’s much needed and we’re always happy to support our community."
