Hanna is our Director of English, collaborating with James to oversee curriculum development and student outcomes in English, particularly within the secondary schools of West Yorkshire. With a career spanning multiple schools across the region, she started as an unqualified teacher and steadily advanced to Head of Department and Assistant Principal. Her passion for English inspired her return to a subject-specific focus as Director of English for Co-op Academies Trust.

Hanna’s work revolves around driving school improvement through the enhancement of teaching and learning, ensuring that curriculums are high-quality, well-sequenced, and clear in both knowledge intent and skill progression. She also supports the professional growth of all English teachers, including those in our Co-op Academies Teacher Training Programme. Together with James, Hanna oversees the planning and delivery of the ITT English subject knowledge courses and serves on the English applications and interview panel.
