Royal National Children’s Springboard Foundation is a social mobility charity that places Year 11 students into prestigious boarding schools for their Sixth Form study. Provided with 110% bursary, students are full members of the boarding community and are afforded opportunities, experiences, and relationships that are literally life-changing.

At Co-op Academy Stoke-on-Trent, two students have successfully passed the Royal Springboard application process this year. Both have taken part in the Co-op Young Leaders program throughout their time at the academy and have been able to provide a huge variety of examples of the experience and skills they have developed as a result of their involvement. Several interviews and assessors have commented on the depth and breadth of their experiences and the confidence with which they have been able to speak about them.

Currently, one of the two students has been placed at Dean Close School, Cheltenham and the other is awaiting confirmation of their confirmed place at a boarding school in Berkshire. Both bursaries are worth c £95000. The students attribute their success to their time on the CYL programme and are incredibly thankful for having been given the opportunity to take part throughout their time at the academy.
