More Good News from Co-op Academies Trust

The last few months have been hard, scary and strange.

The last few months have been hard, scary and strange.

We are so proud of our academies and the amazing work they have been doing.

In the middle of all this, they have still managed to create some good in the world. And we would like to share that with you…

Pupils at Co-op Academy Oakwood have continued to show their support for key workers and the NHS. Including pupil Amelia who took part in a 24 hour jumpathon, inspired by Captain Tom Moore.

Colleagues and students at Co-op Academy Walkden took part in a #DoTheDistance challenge-

And Co-op Academy Smithies Moor organised an indoor Three Peaks Challenge to raise money for the NHS and school uniforms.

Colleagues at Co-op Academy Leeds helped out in their communities-

Monica Kapoor (Science teacher and pharmacist) is spending her non-teaching hours supporting a local pharmacy getting patients onto the electronic repeat dispensing system.

Sharleen Shaw and Ann McKelvey have been visiting many local care homes with biscuits and thank you cards.

Jeremy Bennett has been working with Leeds Dads, delivering food to vulnerable families in Harehills.

Catherine Glover has been doing shopping for local shielding neighbours and Frankie Reed made a cake for a neighbour who was turning 70 on her own.

Tanya Wheatley has been continuing to make PPE equipment at home, started a free library outside her house for all neighbours and been food shopping for neighbouring family who are shielding.

Carol Hurley and family baked cakes for neighbours celebrating VE day.

Co-op Academy Bebington’s baby chicks and ducklings have been growing-

Teacher Tom Smith at Co-op Academy Failsworth took part in a virtual 550 mile charity bike ride, raising money for Alzheimer’s Society and Dementia Friendly Keighley.

Co-op Academy Broadhurst pupils, in school and at home, took part in Skills Week-
