Local businesses donated prizes to Co-op Academy Failsworth’s Christmas raffle. All of the money raised will be used towards Failsworth’s Community Fridge.

“We only took over the pub 3 weeks ago, and we want to help the community as much as possible. It’s all about getting stuck in and driving local businesses to help as well as our own” – Mr Gary Hanmer, General Manager at The Dog and Partridge Pub, Failsworth

The Community Fridge, based at Failsworth Sports Campus on Brierley Avenue, has been supporting over 20 families a week since it opened in 2021. Offering long-life food, hygiene and sanitary products for free to those who are in need.

Co-op Academy Failsworth’s Community Fridge is open Monday-Friday, 2pm-5pm and offers no questions asked support. The Fridge will close briefly over Christmas and reopen on the 4th January.

Money was raised by staff, students, parents, carers and relatives of Co-op Academy Failsworth via donations and purchasing tickets for the raffle.

“It’s great to see local businesses getting involved and supporting the Co-op Academy Failsworth community fridge. I’d like to say a huge thank you for their generosity” – Phill Quirk, Headteacher
