We were proud to celebrate the ‘Reach’ careers event last week, bringing together students from across our Trust.

Reach is our unique Trust led career program that brings local businesses and academies together to address social mobility, develop key employability skills and prepare students for the world of work. 

It was the first time the students had met up across the academies and it was wonderful to be able to celebrate their success. Our CEO, Dr Chris Tomlinson presented each student with a certificate of completion.

“It was fantastic to see so many of our students achieving their Reach completion certificates. Throughout the programme they have shown resilience and commitment and are a credit to the Trust. 

I look forward to developing the program with our next cohort after securing additional new partnerships with well known businesses.

Mentors from the local businesses who took part also attended. Simon Jones from Link Contracting spoke about the benefit of the project on their organisation. Through Reach, Link Contracting now have two students from Co-op Academy Bebington completing apprenticeships with them in partnership with Wirral Met College. 

After a really successful first year, the project will run for an extended period this year to help inspire our young people to future success .
